NPD Specialist ARRMC (Nursing Professional Dev)

Additional Position Details: FTE: 0.500000 | Part Time | Primarily Mon - Fri / 8AM - 5PM

Position Summary

The Nursing Professional Development Specialist (PDS) supports the continuous growth and competency of clinical staff through the design, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of high-quality education, training, and clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • The PDS partners with nursing leaders, preceptors, and interdisciplinary teams to enhance staff readiness, meet care goals, ensure compliance, and promote alignment with Asante's mission, vision, and values.
  • The PDS ensures staff meet the standards to deliver safe, evidenced based care and provides direction on evidence based clinical practice and workflows.
  • The PDS also provides unit-level support by addressing specific educational needs, supporting onboarding, quality improvement, and promoting best practices.
  • This PDS position will specifically be for the Women's specialty (Obstetrics and Family Newborn across Asante) service line. They will work collaboratively with another 0.5 OB/FNB PDS to provide fulltime coverage for this specialty.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Progressive leadership in one of the following is preferred: clinical education, clinical practice, project/quality coordinator, and/or supervisor roles
  • Demonstrates clinical competence in area of responsibility and in teaching ability/concept of adult learning.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) OR Master's degree in healthcare administration, education, health sciences, psychology, or environmental sciences is required

Licensure/Certifications

  • RN: Registered Nurse licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing
  • BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified through the American Heart Association (AHA)
