POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for performing nuclear medicine testing to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of certain cardiac diseases.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Follows departmental protocols to determine proper execution of diagnostic testing.
- Educates patients on ordered diagnostic testing and will properly place IV?s as needed.
- Orders, receives, disposes, and injects radiopharmaceuticals.
- Actively demonstrates a working knowledge of nuclear medicine to provide the best patient care.
- Monitors all departmental testing.
- Ensures proper patient placement to achieve quality images.
- Operates all imaging and non-imaging equipment (gamma camera, dose calibrator, Geiger survey, Scintillation probe).
- Enters all necessary information into EMR per departmental protocol.
- Maintains accurate patient records and ensures charges are correct.
- Follows ICANL standards of practice.
- Travels to all offices as needed.
- Other duties as assigned per the need of the organization and within scope of licensure.
