Overview:
We're seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in a thriving Southern California medical center. This onsite role requires a strong background in NICU nursing and leadership. The position offers excellent growth potential in a stable, Magnet-recognized facility that plays a vital role as one of three regional tertiary centers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee 24/7 operations for a high-acuity NICU ensuring clinical excellence and patient safety.
- Develop, implement, and monitor care standards, staffing plans, and department budgets.
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and internal regulations and standards.
- Hire, train, and mentor staff while promoting ongoing professional development.
- Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to align clinical operations with organizational goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Current California Registered Nurse License
- Basic Life Support (AHA)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- RNC-NIC (Neonatal Intensive Care) certification
- BSN or MSN from an accredited program
- Minimum 5 years of full-time NICU clinical nursing experience (at least 3 years in a community Level III NICU)
- Minimum 3 years of full-time NICU leadership experience as a Manager or Supervisor (Charge Nurse/Clinical Coordinator does not qualify)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
- Management experience in a unionized healthcare environment
- Experience with electronic medical record systems
