Summary
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team at Carolina Heart Specialists. In this role, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive care for patients with cardiovascular conditions in an outpatient cardiology practice. Working collaboratively with cardiologists and the healthcare team, the NP delivers advanced practice nursing services, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, and care coordination. The NP plays a vital role in managing both acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions, promoting heart health, and enhancing patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed patient assessments, including history, physical exams, risk stratification, and cardiac-focused evaluations.
- Formulate diagnoses and develop evidence-based treatment plans for patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions (hypertension, CAD, arrhythmias, heart failure, hyperlipidemia, valvular disease, etc.).
- Perform triage and manage patient flow efficiently in a busy clinical setting.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patient interactions.
- Perform pre- and post-procedure evaluations (cardiac cath, device implantation, EP studies, structural heart interventions).
- Provide patient and family education related to cardiovascular disease management, medications, lifestyle modifications, and risk reduction.
Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of South Carolina.
- Experience in cardiology or related field preferred but not mandatory.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Minimum of 1–2 years NP experience in cardiology, internal medicine, or critical care preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-based practice.
