Job Description:
- Position: Nurse Practitioner
- Setting: Home Health
- Job Type: Per Diem or full time
- Location: Bronx, NY
- Pay: $175.00 per visit
- Visits per day: On average the NPs do a minimum of 4 visits a day.
- Avg. Time Per Visit: Depending on the acuity of the patient, which may vary, but the NPs typically spend 1.5 hrs. per visit.
Qualifications:
- Valid NYS NP License
- Medicare License (required)
- Performing Annual Examinations (required)
- PECOS Experience (preferred)
- Home Healthcare Experience (preferred)
- EMR Experience, VNSNY used E-Clinical Works (ECW) – (preferred)
Nurse Practitioner Duties and Responsibilities
A Nurse Practitioner’s duties and responsibilities vary depending on their specialization. For example: A Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner has training in behavioral health and case management & an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner will focus on short-term treatment. Regardless of the specialization, Nurse Practitioners have a few general responsibilities, including:
- Providing primary care to patients
- Performing initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations
- Setting up and monitoring medical equipment
- Ordering and administering diagnostic tests
- Communicating test results to patients and their families
- Recording patient medical histories
- Operating and maintaining medical equipment
