Overview
Abby’s Learning Center is seeking a passionate and patient-focused Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA or COTA) to join our collaborative pediatric team. In this role, you’ll work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to support children in reaching their developmental goals through holistic, play-based interventions. Full-time and part-time positions are available with flexible scheduling, a supportive mentorship environment, and the chance to make a lasting difference in families’ lives.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized treatment sessions developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Implement developmentally appropriate, play-based activities that support daily living skills.
- Adapt therapy approaches in real-time to meet the child’s changing needs or behaviors.
- Accurately and promptly document session notes and progress updates.
- Collaborate with OTs, speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and educators in a team setting.
- Communicate effectively with families and caregivers on progress and home strategies.
- Support evaluations and assessments as directed by the OT.
- Prioritize patient safety while fostering a fun, engaging environment.
Requirements
- Current Texas OTA license.
- New grads welcome; 1+ year of pediatric experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with children and families.
- Ability to adapt quickly and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Compensation
- Full-Time: $50,000–$60,000/year
- Part-Time (20 hours/week): $25,000–$30,000/year
- Start Date: Immediate
