For this position, the eight ABSOLUTES are:
- We require a friendly and outgoing person; shy, quiet, or introverted is not a fit for this role.
- We require someone with a good memory. Absent-minded individuals who "oh, I forgot" often, need not apply.
- We require someone who is fairly organized BY NATURE (not wish/desire), and enjoys organizing. Obsessive compulsive isn't what we want either, but a natural tendency for disarray simply will not do.
- Must be able to reasonably touch-type on a PC. You don't have to be fast, but a modicum of speed is required; "chicken peckin'" on the keys with a few fingers will not suffice.
- Must have a pleasant voice and clear enunciation for phone use.
- A neat, orderly, and pleasant appearance. The environment is casual, but you will still need a nice appearance.
- Capable of working alone without supervision (self-managing and proactive on finding things to do); your time will be be mostly spent alone in the office, and then occasionally on the move in a work truck with Jacob (the owner).
- Must have a decent grasp on proper grammar and spelling. Grammar is more of a life skill rather than a business skill. Being raised on only a cellphone and possessing the knack for run-on-sentences, emojis, slang, abbreviations, and a disregard for the rules of the English language isn't acceptable for business conversing.
You will be:
- Answering calls and texts.
- Handling and replying to emails.
- Managing calendars and scheduling appointments.
- Assisting with clerical tasks such as data entry, and maintaining organized records.
- Utilizing Microsoft Office and Google Apps for various administrative tasks.
- Maintaining an organized and welcoming office environment.
Schedule:
- This is a new position, so as of right now the ANTICIPATED schedule is to likely be Mondays - Thursdays, and somewhere between maybe 7:30am-ish to 4pm-ish (Jacob hasn't decided)... but this is up for discussing & adaptation as the role unfolds.
- Taking lunch breaks will be up to you.
Environment:
- We are a small business, but 21 years in operation with steady growth. We operate out of the same property as the private home of the owner. The office you will be working in is a detached building from the home.
- This is a low-stress environment.
Pay Increases:
- You will be evaluate for base pay increases at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and then annually.
- Base pay is effected by skills that you master.
