That means ensuring all transport equipment is available, sterile, and in working order when needed. Your Everyday
- Assist the transporting patients to and from surgery.
- Ensures all movable equipment is safely stored, supplies are removed from hallways and stored in respective spaces.
- Report nonfunctional or broken equipment to management.
- Assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels.
- Identify specific patients accurately and ready patients for transport to surgery.
- Use appropriate cleaning solutions after each use of equipment
- Assist the operating team with turnover between cases.
- Interact with patients, families, visitors, fellow employees to ensure a professional and courteous environment.
- Attend all required safety training programs and maintain responsibilities related to general safety, department or service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
- Ability to communicate effectively and to perform simple mathematical calculations with a reasonable degree of accuracy.
- Perform duties using standard precautions and OSHA guidelines.
The Must-Haves
Minimum:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience in a related field with six months to one year of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
