Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, aseptic techniques, and infection control practices to ensure a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff.
Duties
- Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, including the placement and adjustment of braces and other orthodontic appliances.
- Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are sterile and ready for use.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of maintaining their orthodontic appliances.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and compliant with regulations.
- Monitor patient comfort during procedures, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a clean and safe clinical environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow within the clinic.
Requirements
Must have experience as an orthodontic assistant.
No students as there will be conflicts with the work schedule.
- Proficiency in dental terminology and medical terminology is essential.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control practices is required.
- Familiarity with OrthoCeph or similar dental management systems is preferred.
- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting, particularly in orthodontics, is highly desirable.
- A solid understanding of anatomy related to dental health is beneficial for this role.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
