We’re looking for a Painter to join our New Iberia Research Center (NIRC) Team. This painter position will be responsible for preparing and painting buildings, furniture, and other structures with brushes or spray applications.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As a Painter, you will contribute to the maintenance and appearance of our facilities through skilled painting work. In this role, you will:
- Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, and applying filler or primer
- Apply paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or other finishes to equipment, buildings, or other structures using brushes, rollers, or spray guns
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ladders, and other equipment to access high areas
- Mix and match paint colors and finishes to achieve desired results
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe, clean working condition
- Follow safety procedures and applicable building codes
- Perform touch-ups and surface refinishing as needed
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff on multi-trade projects
- Appointment Type: Probational
- Work Location: University of Louisiana at Lafayette's New Iberia Research Center
- Compensation: Minimum hourly rate $19.67
