A paraprofessional works under the direction of a licensed educator to support and assist with providing instructional and non-instructional services to students.
Paraprofessional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
· Be capable of physically assisting students with ambulation and navigation within the school premises and community.
· Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the teacher.
· Assist in implementation of goals for the students and monitor their progress.
· Provide necessary support to enable them to participate in all activities.
· Reinforce appropriate behaviors through the use of positive behavior support.
· Aiding other professionals such as speech therapists, social workers, occupational and physical therapists during instruction.
· Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records, display of student work, one to one or small group instruction as outlined by the teacher and other supportive tasks.
· Support students with emotional or behavior concerns and assist them in developing appropriate social skills.
· Implement behavior plans and collecting date with appropriate training
· Teaching and assisting students in daily life skills such as feeding, ADLs and toileting as needed
· Be able to lift a min. of 50 lbs.
· Other duties as needed

Qualifications:
- 1-3 years’ experience in field preferred
- Be at least 21 years of age. Have a high school diploma.
- Be capable of physically assisting students with specials needs as required
