Aline Physical Therapy is a wellness focused physical therapy clinic in Malvern, PA that specializes in pelvic floor physical therapy along with orthopedic physical therapy. Aline focuses on implementing three components into every patient's care, biomechanical correction, manual therapy, and an education that will help serve them both while they are patients and in the future. The one on one patient experience allows for a more profound relationship between therapist and patient to increase understanding of each other and patients’ struggles and achievements.
Working as a PT Aide at Aline will provide applicants with a greater understanding of both the front of house and behind the scenes of being a physical therapist. Working alongside Dr. Arpna, aides will:
- Observe and supervise patients while completing exercises, assisting when needed, and document treatment
- Prepare Home Exercise Programs for patients using provided software
- Work the front desk, help check patients in and out, take phone calls, schedule appointments, and respond to emails when needed
- Manage patient files and organization
- Help clean and organize treatment areas, setting up equipment, and folding laundry

Job Title: Physical Therapy Aide Reports To: Clinic Manager / Supervising Physical Therapist
Job Summary: The Physical Therapy Aide (PT Aide) provides essential support to the licensed Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants in the clinic. The PT Aide assists with various tasks that contribute to a positive and efficient patient experience, ensuring the treatment area is clean, organized, and properly equipped. This role involves direct patient interaction under the supervision of a licensed therapist, but does not involve performing skilled therapy interventions or making clinical judgments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Support & Preparation (Under Supervision):
- Prepare patients for treatment: Guide patients to and from treatment areas, assist with donning/doffing protective wear or clothing as needed, and ensure they are comfortable.
- Set up treatment areas: Prepare equipment and modalities (e.g., hot/cold packs, ultrasound, electrical stimulation units, exercise equipment) according to the therapist's instructions.
- Assist with exercises: Monitor patients performing exercises as instructed by the therapist, providing encouragement and ensuring proper form (without modifying the exercise or providing skilled cues).
- Apply modalities: Apply hot and cold packs, and assist with setting up other modalities under direct supervision of the therapist.
- Maintain patient flow: Help therapists manage their schedules by preparing the next patient or treatment area in a timely manner.
2. Clinic Maintenance & Organization:
- Clean and disinfect equipment: Thoroughly clean and disinfect all therapy equipment, treatment tables, and exercise areas after each patient use, adhering to strict hygiene and infection control protocols.
- Maintain supply inventory: Monitor and restock linens, therapy supplies (e.g., band-aids, tape, lotions), and general office supplies in treatment rooms and common areas.
- Laundry management: Wash, dry, and fold clinic laundry (linens, towels, etc.).
- Organize and maintain treatment areas: Ensure all equipment is stored correctly, treatment rooms are tidy, and the clinic environment is safe and welcoming.
- Report equipment malfunctions: Identify and report any broken or malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate staff member for repair or replacement.
3. Administrative & Clerical Support:
- Answer phones: Answer incoming calls, direct calls to appropriate personnel, and take messages when necessary.
- Scheduling assistance: Assist the front desk with basic scheduling tasks, appointment reminders, and confirming appointments if needed, under the direction of the office manager or therapist.
- Filing and record keeping: Assist with organizing patient charts, scanning documents, and general filing.
- Prepare forms: Prepare basic patient forms or information packets as directed.
4. Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols: Follow all clinic safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Maintain patient confidentiality: Strictly adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and protected health information.
- Infection control: Practice excellent hand hygiene and follow all infection control guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Some college coursework in healthcare or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., hospital, clinic, nursing home) or customer service role is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and efficiently.

Note: The role of a Physical Therapy Aide does not involve:
- Performing skilled physical therapy interventions.
- Interpreting referrals or prescribing treatment.
- Conducting evaluations or re-evaluations.

- Documenting skilled patient progress or making clinical judgments.
- Providing hands-on therapy techniques (e.g., manual therapy, therapeutic exercise instruction beyond monitoring).
Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
