About the Role
The Part-Time Transportation Driver at Aspen Trace plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of residents to various destinations, including medical appointments, social events, and community activities. This position is essential for enhancing the quality of life for residents by providing them with mobility and access to essential services. The driver will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe vehicle, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed during transportation. Additionally, the driver will engage with residents, providing companionship and assistance as needed, which fosters a supportive community environment. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall well-being and satisfaction of the residents at Aspen Trace.
Job Responsibilities
- Transport residents to and from appointments, events, and activities in a safe and timely manner.
- Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the transportation vehicle, performing routine inspections and reporting any issues.
- Assist residents with boarding and disembarking from the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and family members regarding transportation schedules and any changes.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving, ensuring a secure environment for all passengers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a transportation or caregiving role.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with the local area and community resources.
Skills
The required skills for this position include excellent driving abilities and a strong understanding of safety protocols, which are essential for ensuring the well-being of residents during transportation. Communication skills are vital, as the driver will interact with residents and staff, providing updates and assistance as needed. Organizational skills will help in managing schedules and ensuring timely arrivals and departures. Preferred skills such as First Aid knowledge can be beneficial in emergency situations, enhancing the safety of all passengers. Overall, a compassionate and patient demeanor is crucial for building rapport with residents and creating a positive transportation experience.
Requirements:Must have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) current chauffeurs license or license for hire, including but not limited to, no more that two (2) moving traffic violations during the past 36 months, and no D.U.I (drug or alcohol) conviction during the previous five (5) years in a personal or commercial vehicle. Has no positive drug or alcohol test, should circumstances warrant this testing, for example, post-accident. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends according to transportation needs. Has sufficient hearing to hear the conversational voice. Presents a clean and well-groomed appearance at all times
