Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our bakery by assisting in food production, customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and a commitment to food safety standards.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and baking of various bakery products, including bread, pastries, and cakes.
- Package finished products for sale while ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods.
- Support cake decorating efforts as needed, showcasing creativity and attention to detail.
- Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry or a bakery setting is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is essential to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor when interacting with customers.
- Basic cooking skills and an eagerness to learn more about baking techniques and food production processes.
- Experience in cake decorating is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary.
