ECS is seeking a Payroll Specialist to work in our Fairfax, VA office / remote.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist to join our payroll team. This individual will assist with payroll and labor tasks, including payroll taxes, special projects, and system set-ups. The Payroll Specialist will also support our team with ServiceNow ticket management, Costpoint system updates, and provide back-up support during payroll processing periods or when team members are out of the office. Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing:
- Assist in the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees.
- Verify payroll data, ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
- Assist Senior Payroll Specialist with monitoring and reconciling payroll taxes, benefits, deductions, and adjustments.
- Payroll Taxes:
- Support the Senior Payroll Specialist with payroll tax calculations and filings.
- Stay updated on tax regulations and ensure compliance.
- Special Projects:
- Assist with system improvements, acquisitions, reporting enhancements, and process documentation.
- ServiceNow Ticket Management:
- Manage and resolve payroll-related tickets in ServiceNow.
- Deliver responsive and professional customer service to internal stakeholders and employees.
- Costpoint System Support:
- Assist with updates and maintenance of employee data in Deltek Costpoint.
- Ensure payroll records in ADP and Costpoint are accurately aligned and up to date.
- Back-Up Support:
- Provide back-up coverage during payroll processing periods or team member absences.
- Ensure continuity of operations and adherence to payroll deadlines.
- Compliance and Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation in accordance with legal and company standards.
Additional Information:
- This position may require occasional overtime during peak payroll periods or special project deadlines
- This is a remote position
Salary Range: $75,000 - $82,560
General Description of Benefits
Qualifications- High School Diploma
- CPP Certification preferred but not required
- 3+ years of experience in payroll processing or a related role
- Experience with payroll systems, such as ADP and Costpoint, is preferred
- Knowledge of payroll taxes, labor laws, and payroll best practices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other payroll software tools
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
