Possibly the “best job ever” for teenagers, Brighton Peer instructors get paid to ski/snowboard while they are assisting kids in ski/snowboard lessons. Peer instructors will work closely with an adult lead instructor in creating unforgettable experiences for our younger students ages 4-12. If you are 14-17 years old and passionate about sharing your love of skiing with others, we would love to work and ski with you on the “Greatest Snow on Earth”!

Opportunity for Growth
The Brighton Snowsports School encourages our Peer Instructors to grow and learn to become better coaches and instructors. Peer Instructors can get a $2/hour raise when they complete the PSIA Junior Instructor program. There is also a $25 registration fee that Brighton will reimburse once the course is complete. As a Peer Instructor you will contribute to Brighton’s LEADS values by:
- Assisting with children's ski and snowboard lessons
- Riding with children ages 4-6 on chairlifts
- Helping with other needs of the ski school
- Ensuring kids have a fun and safe experience on snow
- Arriving to Brighton by 8:45 AM on scheduled workday
Expectations:
- Arrival time at work is 8:45 AM.
- Some weekends, holidays or powder mornings, you may need to be in the mouth of the canyon by 7:00 to be able to be at Brighton by 8:45 AM due to traffic.
- Peer instructors’ primary schedule will be 1 weekend day per week. It is expected that you will be scheduled to work every Saturday or Sunday from Dec 1 to March 31.
- At times, there may be no work due to a lack of business.
- It is important to realize that work is not guaranteed every day due to the demands of business.
- Peer Instructors tend to work 2.25 to 6 hours a day.
- When working, you will always need to be in Brighton uniform, with black pants, with a nametag and a helmet.
- Dates are subject to change due to weather conditions
This position may be for you if you:
- Be available for mandatory paid training on Nov 22 or 23
- Be able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level
- Ability to follow directions and safety protocols
- Love working with children
- Happy and friendly presence
- Ability to interact, talk and engage with kids ages 4-6
- Reliable transportation to and from Brighton, even on snowy days
Preferred:
- Are experienced in outdoor, high-traffic, or safety-critical roles
- Have hospitality, recreation, or guest service experience
- Ski or snowboard safely at an intermediate level
