As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of support. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting clients with daily living activities, providing companionship, and ensuring their safety and comfort. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide meal preparation and cooking to ensure clients receive nutritious meals.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in clients' health status.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Perform cleaning duties to maintain a safe and hygienic living space for clients.
- Assist with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Engage in patient observation to identify any changes in behavior or health conditions.
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs through direct support services.
- Implement memory care techniques for clients with Alzheimer's or dementia.
Skills
- First Aid and CPR certification are preferred for ensuring client safety.
- Experience in group homes or assisted living environments is advantageous.
- Proficiency in patient care techniques including heavy lifting when required.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality.
- Familiarity with home health practices and hospice care principles is beneficial.
- Ability to prepare meals that cater to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Strong observational skills for effective patient monitoring and documentation.
- Compassionate approach towards caregiving, especially for seniors or individuals with disabilities.
- Experience working with people on the autism spectrum or those requiring specialized support is a plus. Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
