Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in their homes, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and safety. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities or memory care needs.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation of client care and progress.
- Observe and report changes in clients' conditions or behaviors, ensuring proper communication with healthcare professionals.
- Assist with mobility and physical therapy exercises as directed by healthcare providers.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.
- Perform catheter care and other medical tasks as required.
- Support clients with developmental disabilities through tailored caregiving approaches.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices is beneficial.
- Familiarity with memory care techniques is a plus.
- CPR certification is required; additional certifications in relevant areas are advantageous.
- Ability to observe patients effectively and communicate observations clearly.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor towards clients.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if necessary.
