Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, particularly in senior care and home health settings. This role requires a commitment to maintaining the dignity and independence of our clients while ensuring their safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life.
- Help with meal preparation, feeding, and medication reminders.
- Support clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Document client progress and report any changes in health or behavior to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality at all times.
- Collaborate with family members and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, home community care, or similar settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of CPR and first aid techniques is a plus.
- Strong understanding of patient care principles and practices.
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of clients.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others maintain their independence.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed.
