Key Responsibilities
- Coverage Review: Evaluate the first notice of loss and policy details to confirm coverage; prepare disclaimers and reservation of rights letters as needed.
- Claims Investigation: Lead thorough investigations, including liability and damages assessment, witness interviews, scene inspections, and evidence collection.
- Independent Adjuster Management: Retain, direct, and oversee independent adjusters while ensuring quality and consistency throughout the process.
- Liability Analysis: Apply statutory and case law to assess liability exposure and secure equitable contribution from joint tortfeasors.
- Reserve Management: Establish and maintain accurate reserves that reflect ongoing liability and damages assessments.
- File Oversight: Manage claim files proactively, negotiate settlements with claimants or attorneys, supervise defense counsel, and ensure effective litigation strategy.
- Reporting: Produce clear and detailed reports, including reserve authority requests, reinsurance submissions, serious loss reports, and coverage position letters.
- Collaboration: Partner with underwriting, compliance, and actuarial teams to share insights and support strong product performance.

Qualifications
- Experience:
- 2+ years of relevant experience for Associate Claims Examiner
- 7+ years of relevant experience for Claims Examiner
- Background: Prior experience as an examiner, adjuster, paralegal, attorney, or in a related role.
- Personal Lines Expertise: Experience handling personal lines claims is strongly preferred.
- Additional Assets: Multi-jurisdictional knowledge, advanced degrees, and/or JD are a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
