Job Title: Dog Groomer

Job Overview: As a Dog Groomer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the grooming process. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform grooming services including bathing, haircuts, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing
according to breed standards or client preferences.
- Assess each pet’s coat, skin, and overall health to determine the appropriate grooming techniques and
products.
- Handle and care for pets in a gentle and safe manner, ensuring their comfort throughout the grooming
process.
- Communicate with pet owners about the grooming services needed, any concerns regarding the pet’s health
or behavior, and recommend grooming schedules or treatments.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station and ensure that grooming tools are sanitized regularly.
- Keep detailed records of each pet’s grooming services, preferences, and any special instructions or issues.
- Ensure that all grooming equipment and supplies are fully stocked and sanitized.
- Provide excellent customer service to pet owners, answering questions and offering advice on grooming
and pet care.
- Follow safety protocols for handling pets and operating grooming equipment.
- Assist in keeping the salon environment tidy and welcoming for guests and their pets.
- General knowledge in using and managing a Point-of-Sale system
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a dog groomer, with a strong understanding of various dog breeds, grooming
techniques, and products.
- Certification from a recognized grooming school/course (required).
- Strong knowledge of dog anatomy, coat types, and common grooming needs.
- Ability to work with dogs of all temperaments and sizes.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners and colleagues.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality grooming services.
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, and handle dogs for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple appointments efficiently.
- A passion for animals and their well-being.
- Ability to lift over 60lbs.
- VALID Grooming License and American Red Cross Pet CPR Certification
