The Cutting Room is NY's legendary dinner theater, rock club and event space. We have hosted over 1,000 private events, ranging from corporate parties & meetings, weddings, birthdays, bar/bat mitzvahs, fund raisers, product launches and much more. Our guests enjoy an incredible environment filled with music history.
We are looking for an independent/freelance person to book private events at the club. This is a commission-based opportunity and we offer a small stipend (all to be negotiated.) Work can be done 90% remotely but onsite will be required from time to time. Candidates should have existing relationships with event planners and tour operators and be able to develop new clients.
Responsibilities
- Generate leads for potential events via event planners, tour operators and your own database.
- Develop effective marketing strategies to promote private events, including social media
- Engage with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget for events.
- Negotiate contracts with clients and vendors to secure the best terms for services provided.
- Manage event budgets to ensure profitability.
- Coordinate with onsite events manager to book dates and complete contracts.
- Follow-up with previous event hosts to offer additional services.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in event planning or management, preferably in hospitality or restaurant settings.
- Ability to work independently on a commission basis.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Experience in budgeting for events and managing financial aspects effectively.
- Knowledge of catering services and banquet operations is required.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
