Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress/Tailor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of garment construction. You will be responsible for altering, repairing, and completing finishing work to outerwear garments to meet customer specifications while ensuring high-quality craftsmanship. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing our customers' satisfaction and overall experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform alterations and repairs on various types of outerwear garments, including adding closures and linings to coats/jackets.
- Use sewing machines and hand sewing techniques to execute alterations accurately.
- Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are readily available.
- Be able to read work orders and communicate clearly with management and staff.
Skills
- Strong communication skills with management and staff to have a clear understanding of various jobs.
- Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations during alterations.
- Proficient in sewing techniques, including the use of sewing machines for various fabric types.
- Knowledge of garment construction principles to ensure quality workmanship.
- Attention to detail is essential for achieving precise alterations and repairs.
