We are currently hiring a Project Superintendent in the Austin area to oversee and manage the field execution of commercial mechanical projects. This position plays a key leadership role on projects ranging from basic commercial installations to large, complex systems involving plumbing, piping, and ductwork. The Superintendent ensures projects are delivered safely on time, within budget, and to quality standards, while fostering a collaborative and productive job site environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage field activities for plumbing, piping, and sheet metal work on commercial mechanical projects.
- Establish and enforce project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within company guidelines.
- Lead field manpower planning, scheduling, and productivity to ensure labor budget goals are met or exceeded.
- Maintain regular communication and coordination with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and design teams.
- Participate in and represent the company during project meetings, site walkthroughs, and strategic planning sessions.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues related to cost, schedule, and quality.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and assist in implementing the company safety program.
- Monitor and maintain high-quality standards for all installed systems, including domestic water, medical gas, piping, and ductwork.
- Support and guide multiple foremen and field teams, mentoring where appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with the project manager to align field performance with project goals.
- Accept additional responsibilities as assigned by company leadership.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical trades (plumbing, piping, or sheet metal).
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in commercial mechanical construction.
- Strong proficiency in pipefitting and extensive knowledge of plumbing blueprints, specifications, and codes.
- Thorough understanding of plumbing, piping, and ductwork installation methods and best practices.
- Ability to manage and lead multiple crews and foremen across complex project scopes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, employees, and subcontractors.
- Proven ability to manage schedules, manpower, and deadlines on large-scale projects.
