Job Summary:
Operating primary within our purchasing team (but also assisting in other departments), candidates will assist in sending and receiving correspondence with our vendors. The position will also be responsible for sending, receiving, and tracking quotes and orders, as well as organizing, reporting, and following purchases of materials from start to finish.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team. As a Purchasing Clerk, you will play a crucial role in maintaining efficient purchasing processes and ensuring the availability of necessary supplies and materials for our organization. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and development.
Responsibilities:
- Corresponding with vendors (calling, emailing, etc.)
- Regularly entering purchasing/product data into our computer system.
- Tracking and following up on orders to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Compiling and organizing pricing and availability information from multiple vendors.
- Occasionally assisting other departments with clerical and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in purchasing or supply chain management preferred
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Proficient in using computer systems and software, including SAP or similar inventory management systems
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and online sourcing tools
- Familiarity with inventory control principles and production planning processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
