POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Nurse - LVN plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of resident care by
supporting comprehensive quality improvement initiatives. This role involves analyzing clinical practices,
identifying potential risks and adverse events, and ensuring staff training and compliance with quality
measures. The Quality Assurance Nurse works collaboratively with staff to foster a team-oriented environment
and maintain high standards of care.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in determining quality measures to study and monitor.
- Ensure staff receive necessary training and tools to improve care quality.
- Facilitate discussions, feedback, and follow-ups to ensure ongoing improvements.
- Conduct monthly quality assurance audits on key topics, including call light response, compliance, infection control, and use of gait belts.
- Perform systematic reviews and analyses of clinical practices.
- Make daily rounds to observe and identify potential risks to residents.
- Conduct chart audits and random audits across all units as needed.
- Identify and manage specific skin disorders, primary and secondary lesions.
- Assist with the follow-up of resident and staff incidents.
- Review and analyze incident report trends to identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct staff interviews related to abuse reports.
- Identify in-service training needs for licensed staff and coordinate with Staff Development to arrange training.
- Coordinate licensed staff schedules and assess hiring needs.
- Review monthly Quality Indicator reports to identify system deficiencies.
- Work with Unit Managers to develop and implement corrective actions.
- Report accidents, incidents, resident grievances, allegations of abuse, and other concerns in accordance with facility procedures and regulatory standards.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance regarding occupational exposures and equipment.
- Performs other related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIESQUALIFICATIONS
- Nursing degree from accredited college or graduation from approved LVN program.
- LPN license required.
- Valid Adult Basic First Aid and CPR Certification preferred.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in direct patient care, preferably in acute or long-term care setting, with responsibility for providing nursing care to multiple residents preferred.
- Proficient in skin assessment techniques, including observation, inspection, and palpation.
- Ability to provide comprehensive skin care and therapeutic services in accordance with physician orders and regulatory standards.
