Position Summary: Responsible for checking the quality of incoming and outgoing products for a company by conducting tests, monitoring production processes and identifying malfunctions. Inspect materials, parts, and products at different stages of production to ensure compliance with company standards.
Position responsibilities:
- Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping
- Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations
- Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services
- Measure product dimensions, examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications
- Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control
- Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records
- Teach the production team control concerns to improve product excellence
- Supervise the production process
- Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner
- Perform other duties as assigned
Essential skills and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years in similar role
Preferred skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Certification in quality control is preferred
Reporting to this position: No direct reports
Physical Demands: Subjected to lifting fifty (50) pounds, Repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, standing and sitting, with or without accommodation
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
