SUMMARY
Ensuring Customer Satisfaction through continuous process quality development through management of: Process Control Plans (PCP), PFMEA. Effectiveness is measured through: RPN reduction (PFMEA), in process yield (FPY) and warranty reduction (W as a % of sales)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Product/Model PCP (Process Control Plan) development and maintenance.
- Facilitate cross-functional Preventative & Corrective action plans based on internal and external quality results. (Yield, Warranty and or customer PPM) failure analysis on customer returns to ensure quick turnaround time and responsiveness.
- Mentor cross-functional teams (Process/Product Improvement teams) teams for effective “root cause” analysis, corrective and preventative action. This position will include the training of other groups on a routine basis.
- Coordination of customer visits.
- QA portion of APQP (PPAP) on product launches.
- Resolving critical issues/situations ensuring that they are handled correctly and within current policy/procedure guide lines.
- Quality representative in Lean activities.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (or related field; and or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality engineering position dealing with Manufacturing quality process techniques and quality improvement programs. A good combination of education and experience is acceptable. Candidate should possess basic knowledge in the manufacturing/processing of electrical/mechanical devices. MUST BE EXPERIENCED IN AUTOMOTIVE/TS-16949 & ISO-9000 CUSTOMER/SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. This candidate should be able to determine the difference between a critical & general issue and gage priorities based on that assessment in a timely manner.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Computer literate with a working knowledge of software such as Word, Excel, Access etc.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Able to maintain a high technical knowledge of process control, and capability. Excellent understanding of mechanical material processing. Able to effectively coach/mentor and lead a team professional team. Able to plan, direct and delegate work to others. Able to direct and handle several different functions at the same time. Strong analytical and statistical skills. Technical writing skills will be important. Able to stay up to date on current industry trends and technical advancements.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
ASQC Certified Mechanical Inspector, ASE Transmission Certification, and/or Certified Quality Technician desirable.
