Job Summary
This position reports to the Regional Service Manager and is responsible for evaluating, remediating, and rebuilding legacy Moore Nanotechnology ultra-precision machining systems, typically 10 to 15 years old, back to "like-new" or "better-than-new" condition. This position requires a blend of mechanical, electrical, and investigative skills to assess existing system condition, identify required updates or repairs, and work with the engineering and supply teams to execute comprehensive rebuilds. This role supports the Company’s focus on sustainable equipment lifecycle extension and high-performance restoration.
Core Responsibilities
- Assesses and documents the condition of legacy Nanotech lathes and related components.
- Reviews historical machine documentation, drawings, BOMs, and service history to guide remediation.
- Interfaces with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to source components, redesign outdated subsystems, or implement improvements.
- Fully disassembles, cleans, and inspects machine systems for wear or damage.
- Performs complex electro-mechanical rebuilds, including mechanical fit-up, cable routing, wiring, and fluid system work.
- Debugs and tests rebuilt machines to ensure conformance to original or improved specifications.
- Maintains detailed records of remanufacture procedures, parts replaced, and system performance metrics.
- Identifies opportunities for reliability, performance, and safety improvements during rebuild.
- Ensures compliance with all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- May participate in internal FAT and documentation of remanufactured systems.
- Travel between the NH and NC facilities as needed for coordination and training purposes.
- Must hold or obtain a U.S. passport.
- May be required to work overtime, including weekends.
- Preforms other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in electro-mechanical technology or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in machine tool assembly, rebuild, or field service.
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, wiring schematics, and assembly documentation.
- Experience with ultra-precision machinery, optics, or CNC systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, DVMs, and interferometers desirable.
