This position will support collection and analysis of data obtained from patients enrolled in clinical studies (Grant U01DE03152) at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research to assess patient performance and biomechanical functions before and after craniofacial surgery. Performs other duties as assigned. The research conducted by National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research at the site in Bethesda, Maryland is part of a multi-site clinical trial

25% - Essential - Serves as administration liaison between medical staff, nursing staff and patients, coordinates administrative work for group. Responsible for patient screening, consent and enrollment, coordinating travel arrangements, patient calendars, schedules, medical consults and guiding patients throughout the process. Authorize patient meal and travel vouchers (if required).

25% - Essential - Efficiently coordinates the care of patients with the research team and between multiple NIH medical and laboratory departments. This requires a mastery of medical record maintenance, operations and regulations with sufficient understanding of medical care responsibilities and research protocol parameters to direct questions to appropriate medical personnel.

25% - Essential - Requests, gathers, and collates outside medical records, radiology studies and lab results; scans documents into patient medical records as required and submits them to the appropriate clinician(s) for review. Organizes and manages the study team's records system(s); verifies that necessary documents are stored in proper location; maintains quality assurance.

15% - Essential - Data Management: Verify that appropriate study documentation is added to patient medical record (CRIS). Handle inquiries related to NIDCR protocols from current and prospective patients and physicians within and outside of the NIH. Provides full data entry from source documentation into research databases. Maintains electronic Case Report Forms (e-CRF's) for study team.

10% - Essential - Attends team meetings. Assists research team with data collection; when needed, transport study samples from clinic to research lab. Interpret and relate policies and procedures to patients and their families and to NIDCR staff and health care providers when necessary and upon request. Other duties not described necessary for the success of the study (as needed).

Work Experience - 2+ years

Standard Hours: 37.5

Expected Salary Range: ($47,600.00 - $78,800.00)

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

Normal Operations

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
