Job Description Summary
The PennSIVE Center, a group of quantitative experts specializing in imaging data science, is seeking to recruit a neuroimaging research specialist focusing on image harmonization methodology. Research specialists play a critical role in large-scale projects that seek to understand the healthy brain and neurological and psychiatric diseases. Within these projects, they work in a team environment collaborating closely with a diverse, multi-disciplinary group of faculty and trainees from biostatistics, psychiatry, neurology, radiology, and engineering. Primary responsibilities include processing and analysis of high-dimensional imaging data. Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on the successful candidate's skills and interests.

Job Description
Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage automated image analysis pipelines, including computer programming for image processing.
  • Perform manual segmentation analysis of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), involving the manual delineation of structures in images.
  • Assist in drafting abstracts and manuscripts, and generate results, tables, and figures.
  • Create presentation slides using LaTeX and PowerPoint.
  • Conduct simulation studies.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned based on skills and interests.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, with 1-2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required;
  • Experience with imaging harmonization methodology preferred;
  • Experience in biomedical or psychological research or data management preferred;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Experience with linux/unix/bash scripting is preferred; extensive knowledge of data manipulation and conversion tools;
  • Strong numerical skills and meticulous attention to detail;
  • Experience with statistics and statistical programming (R preferred) and general-purpose programing languages;
  • Ability to learn new technical skills independently;
  • Experience with neuroimaging tools, such as SPM, AFNI, FSL, preferred.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job’s level.
