Researcher (PhD)- Plant Biology
· Job Summary: This project focuses on extending fruit shelf life using PURA technology, a novel non-toxic approach, aimed at improving fruit quality and reducing spoilage. The postdoctoral researcher will assist by suggesting ideas and bringing discussions about methods and strategies using PURA technology.
Essential Job Functions:
· Perform all tasks in accordance with laboratory procedures and policies.
· Work Cooperatively with others.
· Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
· Handle job responsibilities in accordance with Accelerated Analytical Laboratories ethic and appropriate professional standards and applicable state and federal law.
· Identifying new species of flora and fauna by studying their physical characteristics and geographic location.
· Generate ideas and discussions about methods for increasing fruit shelf life.
· Help design experiments to optimize conditions and troubleshoot.
· Read and interpret the most recent literature related to methods for increasing fruit shelf life.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements Qualifications:
· Masters or PHD in botany, ecology, related field
· Minimum 1 year of experience as botanist preferred
· Experience with common lab techniques such as microbial isolation from environmental samples, quantitative methods, measuring fruit contents including minerals, acidity, soluble solids.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong organization and problem-solving skills
· Able to work in a variety of environments.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Technology/computer skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Software.
· Read and follow work instructions consistently.
· Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with others.

· Put on (don) and Remove (doff) personal protective equipment (PPE) per company protocol to provide training resource as needed.

Working Conditions:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Prolonged periods standing in the lab, repetitive motion of fingers, hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders; manual dexterity is required.
Job Types: Full-time, Internship
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
