Overview
We are seeking motivated and customer-oriented Part-Time Retail Sales Associates & a Full-Time Assistant Manager to join our team.
In this role as a Retail Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while assisting customers with their shopping needs. Your ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate product knowledge will be essential in creating a positive shopping experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in retail sales, a strong understanding of merchandising, and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
In the role as an Assistant Manager, you will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales performance. You will play a key role in managing staff, inventory, and store presentation while fostering a positive work environment.
Duties
Retail Sales Associates:
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for processing transactions efficiently.
- Handle cash and credit transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Provide product demonstrations and explain features to enhance customer understanding and satisfaction.
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and suggesting additional items that complement their purchases.
- Maintain an organized and visually appealing store environment through effective merchandising techniques.
- Stock shelves and ensure that products are well-displayed and replenished as needed.
- Assist in supervising junior staff members, providing guidance and support as necessary.
- Address customer inquiries with professionalism, utilizing strong phone etiquette when handling calls.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain high standards of customer service.
Assistant Manager:
- Assist in the management of daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Supervise and train staff to ensure high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, ordering, and loss prevention strategies.
- Conduct employee orientation and training programs to develop team skills and knowledge.
- Support recruitment efforts by participating in interviewing and hiring processes.
- Manage payroll processes and maintain accurate bookkeeping records.
- Implement merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and drive sales.
- Utilize POS systems for transactions, cash handling, and reporting.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and assist in budgeting for store operations.
- Foster a collaborative team environment through effective communication and leadership skills.
Requirements:
Retail Sales Associates:
- Previous experience in retail sales or a grocery store environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with customers effectively.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and performing retail math calculations.
- Experience with cashiering duties and familiarity with cash handling procedures.
- Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply, as this can enhance customer interactions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

- Proficiency in cash handling procedures and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with administrative duties such as scheduling and payroll management.
- Experience in training & development of team members is a plus.
