We’re looking for a Revenue Tax Specialist to join our External Reporting division.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six semester hours in accounting, business, economics, finance, management, information systems management, or quantitative methods plus one of the following:

Three years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze returns with compliance issues by reconciling, editing, and evaluating information on returns.

  • Adjust returns as required or recommend action required to resolve the issue.

  • Provide one-on-one telephone communication to various taxpayer representatives such as certified public accountants and tax attorneys as well as inter-agency personnel, and intra-agency personnel.

  • Interpret and answers taxpayer representatives' questions at an advanced level with respect to transactions and business circumstances.

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, Job Appointment, Detail to Special Duty or WAE

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Revenue Tax Specialist 1 or 2.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
