Sign On Bonus: $10,000

Shift: Variable Schedule: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm or 11:00 am - 11:00 pm, for 72 hours per pay period (36 hours/week) Holiday and every third weekend rotation

In this role, you'll be a part of our emergency department team that specializes in emergency medicine and provides care to a variety of patients from newborns to geriatrics who come by ambulance or walk in. The Emergency Department provides the initial treatment and stabilization of patients who come with a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries, some of which can be life threatening.

Responsibilities:
  • Delivers high quality care utilizing the nursing process while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills of the specialty required on assigned unit in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care.
  • Responds to Code Blue/Pink and other urgent calls for patient care in house.
  • Consults appropriate resources within the hospital to provide specialized education.
  • Demonstrates knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
  • Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care.
  • Continues professional development and involvement in professional activities that enhance nursing practice by sharing knowledge through networking and research.
Qualifications:
Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (must obtain BSN within 12 years of hire)
Certification/License:
  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa
  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within 3 months from date of hire
  • Must possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or within 1 year from date of hire
  • Must possess and maintain current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year of hire date
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certiciation within 1 year of hire date
