Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Emergency Room team at a Level II trauma center. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency care, demonstrating the ability to assess and treat patients in high-pressure situations. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient care, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV insertion and catheterization.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Perform sterile processing of instruments and equipment to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations.
- Utilize medical imaging techniques as needed to assist in diagnosis and treatment.
- Provide support during surgical procedures in the Operating Room (OR) when required.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including documentation of ICD-9 codes for billing purposes.
- Lift and transport patients safely while ensuring comfort and dignity.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in an Emergency Room setting is highly preferred.
- Proficient in emergency care procedures, including IV insertion, catheterization, and patient assessment.
- Familiarity with sterile processing techniques and medical imaging protocols.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
