Qualifications:
Specialized knowledge in breastfeeding gained by formal education, self-study and experience providing breastfeeding assistance to mothers and babies
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant status must be achieved within 12 months of placement into position

Current International Certified Lactation Consultant status.
Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Nursing

BLS
One of the following:
- Current Alabama RN license
- Current Multi State RN License in accordance with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama*
- Infirmary Health abides by the NLC requirements and guidelines for the state of Alabama
International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant status must be achieved within 12 months of placement into position
Desired Qualifications:
BSN degree in Nursing
Desired Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Current International Certified Lactation Consultant status.
Responsibilities:
Registered Nurse that designs and conducts lactation, breastfeeding and breast care educational programs to meet regulatory and audience demands and to support achievement of Infirmary Health System’s standards of quality, efficiency and desired outcomes.
