OSHA and Racking Safety Compliance Expertise
- Deep knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910, ANSI MH16.1 (steel storage racks), and NFPA fire codes relevant to high bay storage environments.
- Proven experience applying these standards to new warehouse builds, racking installations, and automation layouts.
HEART or Human Factors Safety Assessment Experience
- Demonstrated ability to perform HEART (Hazard Elimination, Aspect, & Risk Transformation) or similar human reliability analysis to proactively identify and mitigate risk in both manual and automated workflows.
Automation Safety Integration
- Hands-on experience with safety design reviews and hazard identification for automated systems (AGVs, AMRs, robotic arms, VLMs), including interlocks, LOTO systems, and separation zones.
- Familiarity with managing human-machine interaction risks in live production or warehouse settings.
Warehouse Transformation & Capital Project Safety Support
- Safety leadership during large-scale warehouse transformation in a brownfield site transformation, preferably including exposure to insourcing transitions and vendor-led installations.
Engineering or Technical Background
- Engineering degree or strong technical background enabling review of warehouse layouts, racking structural plans, and equipment specs from a safety standpoint.
- Ability to partner with engineering teams on design-for-safety and ergonomics improvements.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and direct relevant experience)
Advanced certifications such as:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Experience: 5-7 years (more if possible)
