Position Summary:
Parish Transport is seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Manager to lead our safety and compliance programs across all company operations. The Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and company policies, while also developing a culture of safety among drivers, staff, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure company operations comply with federal, state, and local transportation and safety regulations.
- Oversee driver qualification files, DOT physicals, and MVR monitoring.
- Conduct internal safety audits and prepare for DOT, FMCSA, and third-party inspections or audits.
- Driver Safety & Training
- Develop, implement, and oversee driver safety orientation, training programs, and remedial courses.
- Lead accident investigation processes, including root cause analysis, reporting, and corrective actions.
- Monitor and analyze CSA scores and work with departments to reduce violations.
- Incident Response & Claims
- Manage post-accident response, drug and alcohol testing, and regulatory reporting.
- Coordinate with insurance providers on claims, documentation, and resolution.
- Maintain records for all incidents and create action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Fleet Safety Programs
- Ensure proper implementation of ELD systems and compliance with hours-of-service rules.
- Oversee safety equipment inspections and ensure vehicles meet safety standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to identify and resolve equipment-related safety concerns.
- Culture & Communication
- Serve as a safety ambassador across departments to promote a zero-incident culture.
- Communicate safety policies, updates, and campaign initiatives clearly to staff and drivers.
- Report regularly to leadership on safety metrics, trends, and improvement strategies.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of safety management experience in the trucking or transportation industry (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and CSA compliance.
- Experience with safety software, ELDs, and driver management systems.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead investigations and implement corrective action plans.
- CDL or background in commercial driving a plus, but not required.
