Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking experienced Sandblasters for multiple projects in the Portland, OR area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surface preparation using sandblasting equipment, ensuring high-quality finishes for industrial and manufacturing applications. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Shift: Day and Swing

Pay: $25-28/hr DOE

Responsibilities

Operate sandblasting equipment to clean, prepare, and finish surfaces of metal, concrete, or other materials.
Set up and maintain blasting equipment, ensuring proper function and safety compliance.
Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure quality and adherence to project specifications.
Follow safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE (respirators, gloves, protective suits, etc.).
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain a clean work environment.
Handle and dispose of abrasive materials in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any malfunctions to supervisors.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience as a sandblaster in industrial or manufacturing settings.
Proficiency in operating various sandblasting equipment (e.g., pressure blasters, vacuum blasters).
Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and abrasive materials (e.g., silica, glass beads, steel grit).
Strong understanding of safety protocols and OSHA regulations related to sandblasting.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in confined spaces or outdoor environments.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
