Essential Functions:

Performs operating sequences to receive and exit vehicles through incoming and outgoing scales; assists in checking all components of the weigh scale system to ascertain all are in working order; and maintains a control environment in scale house to ensure proper operation of the computerized scale system.
Assists in performing key starting instructions on command printer as necessary; operates traffic control devices to allow vehicles to proceed to tipping area and exit from facility; and issues receipts to vehicle driver and collects tickets.
Performs routine office and clerical work; answers phone, records messages and provides routine information; uses computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word processing, and calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments.
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; trains and supervises volunteers; develops and oversees work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and control; compiles and reviews program records; approves/processes team member concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; assists with employee performance appraisals; directs work; acts as a liaison between employees and management; and trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; two years of previous work experience involving clerical/office administration duties; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
