Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who have diverse learning needs, including those requiring specialized support in a preschool or private school setting. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), fostering a supportive classroom environment, and utilizing various teaching methodologies, including Montessori approaches and behavioral therapy techniques.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement tailored IEPs for students with special needs.
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes the academic and social development of all students.
- Utilize various teaching strategies, including Montessori methods, to engage students effectively.
- Conduct standardized testing and assess student progress regularly.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and specialists to support student learning and development.
- Creating a safe and accepting environment in which students feel comfortable expressing their needs
- Keeping up with district and school policies, state and federal law and the needs of families for information sharing and confidentiality
- Effectively communicating with students’ teachers, school staff, district administrators and children’s caregivers to meet children’s mental and emotional health needs
- Keeping and updating HIPAA-compliant records containing privileged health information about minors
- Learning and applying evidence-based diagnosis and treatment protocols in compliance with state licensing standards.
Experience
- Master’s degree in School Psychology.
- Experience working with preschool-aged and Middle age group children or in a private school setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with behavioral therapy techniques and the ability to implement them effectively in the classroom.
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation processes.
- Experience with standardized testing practices for special education students is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
