Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Scrub Tech for a contract position in Centerville, IA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining a sterile environment and assisting the surgical team during operations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgery by passing instruments and maintaining the sterile field.
- Ensure proper handling and care of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Monitor and maintain aseptic techniques throughout surgical procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond promptly.
- Assist in the setup and clean-up of the operating room before and after procedures.
- Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgeries.
- Follow hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (preferred, but not always required depending on facility).
- Previous experience in a hospital or surgical setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
