Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for managing and analyzing inventory and production costs while supporting accounts payable, cash application, expense management, sales tax compliance, and RMA processes. The ideal candidate has hands-on SAP experience (including implementation), solid accounting expertise, and the ability to drive financial accuracy and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
- Cost Accounting & Inventory Management
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs and provide insights to improve cost efficiency.
- Support month-end close activities related to inventory and cost accounting.
- Provide monthly inventory reports and monitor inventory obsolescence.
- Track and manage RMA transactions; ensure appropriate accounting treatment for returns.
- Partner with operations and customer service to resolve discrepancies and process improvements.
- Accounts Payable Support
- Responsible for supplier set up and PO creation for indirect material, coordinate payment process between NAM team and Headquarter accounting team.
- Work with procurement and receiving teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Contribute to timely and accurate AP accruals and reconciliations at month-end.
- Cash Application
- Apply and reconcile customer payments daily.
- Identify and resolve unapplied payments and discrepancies.
- Coordinate with AR team to research payment issues or short payments.
- Expense Management
- Review and validate employee expense reports for policy compliance.
- Support corporate card reconciliation and reporting processes.
- Analyze and report on travel and operational expense trends.
- SAP System Involvement
- Utilize SAP for all accounting functions including cost tracking, AP, inventory, and reporting.
- Help optimize SAP workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency in cost-related functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with RMA management
- Familiarity with expense report systems and corporate card programs.
- Knowledge of multi-state sales tax compliance.
- CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification is a plus.
Qualifications
Qualification we’re looking for:
- Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong SAP experience is required; prior involvement in an SAP implementation or upgrade project is a plus.
- Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, inventory valuation, and cost accounting principles.
- Abilities:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
