POSITION SUMMARY
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will perform the duties of receiving parts, packing parts, creating paperwork to ship parts to customers and maintaining their inventory in stock area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Packing Operations: Ability to accurately count, wrap and box manufacturing parts to customer requirements and needs. Able to work in a group environment and prioritize daily requirements. Have good housekeeping and organizing skills. Required to review production travelers to ensure all operations have been performed.
- Inventory Operations: Maintain inventory for parts going into and being pulled from inventory area. Use computer to check order and stock quantities.
- Shipping Operations: Able to Read Purchase orders, travelers, and specifications to understand the requirements of shipping each product. Able to use computer to navigate customer websites to create shipping paperwork. May be required to deliver parts to customer or vendors.
- Make every effort to focus on doing-it-right to make sure the customer is happy or satisfied with our units.
- Receiving Operations: Review incoming shipments to ensure correct paperwork is included and quantities shipped are accurate. Receive parts into system, process paperwork, and transfer parts to appropriate department.
- Provide value to our customers by using lean tools and concepts to identify and eliminate waste in all forms. Uses systemic thinking by seeing processes from end to end and works to challenge the status quo to eliminate the root cause of problems. Is involved in individual and /or team activities that involve using Lean tools and concepts to improve the flow of information and material.
- Other duties as assigned
KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS
· Quality related Case Calls (customer complaints) for receiving product damaged, inaccurate count or supplied paperwork.
· Internal inventory audit part counts.
· Number of improvements to prevent internal findings or external escapes
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Must be able to lift 0-30 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. periodically.
· Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, or bend for up to 8 hours.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Education: High school diploma or Equivalent.
· Interpersonal Skills: Communication skills – written/verbal
· Technical Skills: Basic computer skills, familiarity with Infor/Visual system a plus. Able to analyze, prioritize, identify, and execute solutions.
· Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills and able to sort and count correctly. Knowledge of UPS, FED X, DHL and Freight Systems shipping systems and how to use them to ship product.
