- Lives the Owens Corning Safety Stand and meets all safety requirements. Safety is a condition of employment.
- Participates in the safety, quality, TPM and housekeeping programs as established within the plant; including but not limited to Focused Improvement Events, Safety Committee, etc.
- Performs job tasks to reduce environmental impact and adheres to the environmental regulations and recycling procedures for waste disposal.
- Ensure all personnel are loading and unloading trucks in a safe manner
- Complies with all plant rules and safety regulations and assures all shipping employees are in compliance
- Completes accident investigations and recommends action plans when needed
- Assist Shipping FLL in reviewing and updating all warehouse JSA’s (Job Safety Analysis)
- Ensure qualification of new hires and current employees. Assis with OSHA Forklift License Training.
- Performs cleanup duties at workstations, etc.
- Maintains accuracy and organization of shipping and receiving records.
- Completes daily reporting through SAP.
- Maintains good working relationships with carriers, transportation and customer service teams.
- Serve as the direct and primary contact for all customer service needs – act as the liaison to customer service in Toledo
- Conducts daily inventories of raw materials and finished goods.
- Develops and maintains monthly cycle-count schedule and spot counts as needed.
- Establishes miscellenous shipments.
- Partners with key individuals to resolve shipping and receiving errors to ensure accuracy and efficiency of the daily processes.
- Communicates equipment problems requiring work orders and submits work orders.
- Assists in loading and unloading trucks as needed in compliance with processes and procedures for the task.
- Develops knowledge of warehouse storage areas and location of all products.
- Assist Shipping FLL with managing PTO Requests and employee leaves
- Oversee Trash Hauling and Recycling Processes
- Participate and/or lead discussions regarding productivity improvement in the warehouse (Kaizen’s, forklift and truck repair costs, shipping error reduction, etc.)
- Demonstrates flexibility to changing priorities as business needs dictate
- Establishes goals, prioritizes and organizes actions, timelines and resources.
- Backup for the Shipping FLL
- Acts decisively and shows a strong sense of urgency to ensure follow through of established goals.
- Identifies and participates proactively in learning opportunities, and develops expertise in those areas.
- Ensures standard operating procedures and processes are in place.
- Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of this position, as directed by the area leader.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two or more year of relevant work experience preferred
- Forklift experience required
- Microsoft Office and Inventory Management System experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.) required
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US
- Must be drug and alcohol free
- Must read, write and speak English
- Must understand verbal and written instructions
- Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
- Must multi-task
- Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
- Must work well in a team environment
