Heritage Window Solutions is a local, growing, specialty contracting company focused on the restoration and protection of historic windows and doors. We are seeking full-time Shop and Field crew members to join our team.
Our Shop and Field team crew will perform window maintenance and storm windows installation services on old homes and commercial buildings. In the shop, there are an array of areas to help with such as painting, glazing, and glass repair.
Our work requires self discipline, confidence in handling hand tools, no fear of heights, and a curiosity that will only be satisfied by learning.
The work environment is moderately-paced and friendly. It is often an on-the-go routine as team members regularly visits historic homes and buildings. And the shop is always busy with a new project!
We have been adding value to homes and commercial buildings for 20 years by providing customer-focused solutions to saving older windows instead of replacing them. In our work to preserve windows that we view as truly original elements of architectural design, we strive always toward achieving the "highest form of the art" . We are looking to expand our team of restoration professionals that would share in our passion to be working with these historical pieces of architecture.
Requirements/Skills Needed:
- Experience working with hand tools*
- Experience driving full-size truck
-Valid Driver's license with no at-fault accidents or major violations within the past three (3) years.
- Ability and willingness to travel to job sites in the Lexington, KY; Louisville, KY; and Cincinnati, OH areas
- Due to the nature of this job, we require the employee to be comfortable working at heights up to 3 stories-must NOT be afraid of heights!
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job including lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods of time
-Ability to follow all safety rules and regulations on the job site and in the shop
-Ability to maintain and operate all power tools necessary to complete a project (including, but not limited to: drills, oscillating multi-tool, circular saw, hand planer, and sanding tools)
- Ability to carefully handle historical and fragile materials
- Restoration experience, and a working knowledge of standard materials/tools of the carpentry/storm window trade is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and cutting of materials
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team

-Ability to learn all computer systems used for project scheduling and documentation

Key Job Duties Include:
- Measuring window openings
-Removing old storm windows and/or sash from window openings
-Installing new storm windows and/or sash into window openings
-Performing re-stringing, carpentry repairs, epoxy repairs, Dutchman repairs, occasionally copper flashing repairs, and other window maintenance needs
-Maintain a working knowledge of how to perform services as to maintain the historical integrity of each structure and window unit
-Work in the shop as needed to provide assistance in the restoration process through paint stripping, painting, glass re-glazing, and glass cutting
-Be a team player and handle all other duties as assigned by Field and Shop managers
Schedule:
- 40-hour workweek (Schedule will vary due to weather)
- Mon-Fri, weekends and evenings as needed
- Day shift
- Regular travel to varying job site locations; One primary office and warehouse location
