Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to helping individuals and families navigate through challenges, providing support and guidance to improve their overall well-being. This role involves working closely with clients, assessing their needs, and developing tailored intervention plans. Supervising experience and mentoring skills are highly desirable as you will also be responsible for guiding junior staff members.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to identify clients' needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
- Provide counselling and support to individuals and families facing various life challenges.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including healthcare providers, educators, and community organisations, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes in accordance with organisational policies.
- Facilitate workshops and support groups to empower clients and enhance their coping skills.
- Supervise and mentor junior social workers or interns, providing guidance on best practices in the field.
- Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and community resources to effectively advocate for clients' rights and needs.
Qualifications
- A recognised degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification is essential.
- Previous experience in a social work role is preferred, with a focus on client assessment and intervention.
- Supervising experience is advantageous for overseeing junior staff members effectively.
- Strong mentoring abilities to guide less experienced colleagues in their professional development.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on best practices within the field of social work.
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgemental attitude towards clients from various backgrounds are crucial for success in this role.
