Paraprofessional – Student Support (Special Education)
Job Summary:
Grade Point Resources is seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated Paraprofessionals to provide one-on-one support to students with disabilities in the classroom setting. This position plays a vital role in helping students access their education and develop independence by supporting instructional, behavioral, and daily living needs under the guidance of certified teachers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with disabilities within the classroom environment
- Implement educational activities and behavior strategies as directed by the classroom teacher
- Supervise and assist students in completing academic tasks aligned with their Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Accurately observe and record student data to support progress monitoring and instructional decisions
- Assist students with activities of daily living, as needed
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and procedures
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong ability to build rapport and work effectively with children
- Willingness to learn and implement instructional and behavioral management strategies
- Reliable, team-oriented, and motivated to help children succeed
- Must have or be willing to obtain:
- PA Criminal Background Check
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance
- Child Abuse Clearance
- TB test
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 6 months of experience working with children with special needs
- Ability to maintain a moderate to high level of physical activity
- Comfortable and willing to assist students with personal care tasks
