About the Team

The Merchant Design team crafts the products and services that merchants rely on every day to succeed on DoorDash. We aim to be an essential partner for every merchant, whether by enhancing in-store operations or streamlining business management. Our team’s purpose is to design seamless, engaging experiences that support merchants at every stage of their journey. With a commitment to design thinking, creativity, and innovation, we bring the heart and soul of DoorDash to life, ensuring the user experience is filled with unique, memorable interactions.

About the Role

As a senior product designer on the Merchant Platform team, you will play a pivotal role in making merchants more successful on our platform. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other designers to create intuitive solutions that address the unique growth needs of our merchants. By bringing a user-centric mindset that balances business needs, you will establish platforms and frameworks for partner teams to grow adoption, build new zero-to-one features, as well as drive iterative experiment-driven optimizations. Success in this role requires being able to navigate low- and high-altitude work simultaneously, balancing short-term tactical experiments with long-term strategic bets. You’ll need to be passionate about helping merchants succeed, as you’ll be expected to drive design strategy with sometimes ambiguous starting points, leveraging data, running experiments, and building business cases to influence the roadmap of the team.

You'll report to our Director of Design, Merchant Experience. This role is hybrid, working certain days a week onsite and the rest working from home.
